Big Leaf Aster spreads by rhizomes forming a ground cover with its basal heart-shaped leaves, but is not aggressive. The basal leaves can reach up to 8” across. In late summer, stems emerge with 1.5” white flowers with yellow centers. It is the host plant for the Pearl Crescent Butterfly. Benefits pollinators and is deer resistant.
