NOTES: Hairy Penstemon or Beardtongue has pale pink to purple trumpet-shaped flowers and woolly-stems. The tubular, white-lipped flowers are about an inch long. It is the larval host plants for the Baltimore Checkerspot Butterfly. Hairy Beardtongue is a very versatile plant for home landscapes because of its varied sun and moisture requirements, its compact size and colony-forming nature. Drought tolerant.
