Wild Petunia has lavender trumpet-shaped flowers that attract hummingbirds and butterflies and bees with long tongues. It has a long blooming season and readily re-seeds. This tough plant tolerates shallow, rocky soil and drought. It’s low growing stature makes it a favorite in the front of borders. Wild Petunia is the host plant for caterpillars of the White Peacock (Anartia jatrophae) butterfly and the Common Buckeye butterfly (Junonia coenia).
