This program will be presented by Travis Kurtz, the Community Science Coordinator at the John Ball Zoo.
The Habitat Hero program is a community-based conservation project focused on bringing people together to create high-quality pollinator habitats in urban and suburban areas. Learn more about how this program works, how you can get involved, and why urban pollinator conservation is so important!

Travis Kurtz is the Community Science Coordinator at John Ball Zoo. His work focuses on connecting members of the community who are passionate about protecting species and ecosystems in West Michigan to the science and conservation work done by the Zoo. He oversees many projects covering a wide range of species, from suckers to bats to butterflies!
WHAT MAKES SOMEONE A HABITAT HERO?
A Habitat Hero is someone who is engaged in restoring and protecting native habitat through education, awareness, or direct action.
