Notes: Bright orange flowers and low mounding habit make this milkweed a garden favorite! It lacks the milky sap of other milkweeds. The mature plants have a deep tap root. This species thrives in the sun, in sandy, dry soil or well-drained loam. Benefits butterflies, pollinators, and hummingbirds. Host plant for the caterpillars of Monarch, Grey Hairstreak, and Queen butterflies. Also called Butterfly Weed.
