Friday Market Days Native Plant Sales: A Win-Win Partnership!
Each summer, WORC hosts Friday Markets on the third Friday of July, August and September at the Fulton Street Market. These sales are a partnership between the Native Plant Guild and WORC.
Growers sell native plants, shrubs, seed packets and planters to new customers and reach potential clients. As their “host,” WORC reserves market stalls and provides volunteers to assist growers. At the same time, we further our mission by offering a regular, reliable source of native plants and by promoting WORC’s mission to new customers.
In 2025 Friday Markets earned four growers a total of $6,230, while WORC received donations totally $623 —more than enough cover the cost of renting stalls at the market.
Best of all, roughly 600 new native plants are putting down roots in and around Grand Rapids.
